Air temp versus power loss

Intake air temperature has a direct effect on bhp. In the above graph at 6000 rpm the Forge front mount intercooler reduces the intake temp further from 98 C to 52C This equates to taking it from a 176 bhp to 190 bhp approx or a gain of 14 bhp.
Of course this is hypothetical, but rolling road results indicated gains between 10 and 18 bhp on different runs. Whilst a rolling road is no place to really test an intercooler the results were as one would have expected.
